I don’t think so. Looks like the comfort of women’s shoes hasn’t changed in over a century. Captured in a store window in Virginia City, MT:
Found on new construction in New Haven. I loved the symmetry of the meters and their shadows.

To me, the whorl of these shell interiors looked like the tip of a Neolithic whaling harpoon or the spike of a magical railroad. What does it remind you of?
Captured at South of the Border truck stop. Sad that these rides were decommissioned, I’m sure at some point kids LOVED to stop here to enjoy the rides while parents got a break from the incessant ‘are we there yet?’ from the backseat. Someone had biked to our beach and parked their bike while enjoying the sunset.

Caught near Reagan Airport in Washington, DC. Spring is here, while its still freezing in CT. What’s up with that?!?
Here’s a shot of my breakfast at one of my favorite places, G Cafe in Branford. The goat cheese and spinach omelet with toasted fitness bread is very yummy.
Shot with my new ultra-wide lens, which is turning out to be a fun piece of equipment.

Found this old battered and slightly crumpled Airstream trailer on a vacant lot in Vermont. What places this thing must have seen!
Clinton had its first ever summer fireworks, and it was a BIG one. Here are some of my favorite shots. Click on any picture to see them all in slideshow format.

The Mayflower replica, usually moored in Plymouth, MA, is currently at the Mystic Seaport shipyard, the only shipyard on the Eastern Seaboard qualified to restore antique ships like this one. It’ll be there for the next 6 winters, with the goal to have the restoration completed in time for the 400th anniversary of Plymouth in 2020.

Shot these pictures at the edge of town. What exactly was torn down I don’t know, but the big mountains of debris attracted my attention.
You never know what the Clinton Antique Center has to offer. Today, it has 2 vintage farm tractors for sale. Here’s one of them:

Found this ‘little’ abandoned machine in a field by the side of the road near Bozeman, Montana. Click on any picture to see them in large slideshow format.
I didn’t plan that, but it looked so delicious I just had to share it. I guess when you make the same breakfast every day, sooner or later a smiley face or a madonna is going to appear in my eggs….

That’s what the bumper sticker says on the fuel tank. And it looks like this Harley Davidson has seen quite a bit of road in its lifetime. Photographed in Branford, CT.

Actually, these were locks that control the flow in one of the many canals in the Netherlands. But from afar, I was reminded of the AT-AT Walkers from Star Wars (original below):
This guy won’t get wet when it rains in Amsterdam, but how he squeezes in there is a mystery to me. You can find out more at velomobiel.ne.

I wanted to give these boulders the glamour treatment, using HDR and some filters. I shot these on an overcast day on Hammonasset Beach in Connecticut. (Maybe I should call them ‘Boulder Stars’…)

Hammonasset Beach in Connecticut is covered in these shells. Finding a spot where they take up the entire viewfinder wasn’t difficult. Deciding whether I like the color or b&w version better was tough.

Now on with the regular post: A visit to the local antique store is always a source for great macro photography, even when I just have my iphone with me. Here’s what I found when strolled through there last week:

My favorite bookshelf is the one in my house — like good friends, these surround me and remind me of good times. And right next to it is my reading chair, making for a lovely spot to spend a rainy day. What’s your favorite reading spot? On to the next book….
