Captured during a one-day business trip to Philadelphia. Not much time for photography except while waiting for my train at beautiful 30th Street Station:

As seen out the door of the train I took to Mysore. Unlike trains in the US or Europe, in India one can open the doors while the train is moving and get some fresh air (and better pictures than through a smudged train window).
The train to Mysore was as exotic as I had expected – although not so cramped as to require sitting on the roof, as one often sees in movies about India. This trip was rather civilized, I had a comfortable seat in a sleeper car where I could stretch out while vendors came by throughout, selling chai tea or snacks.

However you may define it: shared experience, place of work, or gaming break.

Caught on the Friday afternoon train out of Grand Central Terminal in New York. Â I liked the contrast of posture and attire, yet they both evoke the same question:”Are we there yet?” as they wait to get to their destination and start their weekend.
A beer and a nap on the train home from New York is something I see quite often.

These two captured my imagination in the New York subway. What is that man listening to? Where did that lady get her scarf?

This ride from Washington, DC to New Haven, CT on Amtrak will leave you thinking that all of America consists of refineries, construction sites, abandoned factories, parking lots and water towers. Nevertheless, I was fascinated by what whizzed by my window. Click on any picture to view in slide show format.
The dad seemed to enjoy the video more than his young son. Still, they were glued to the iphone for quite a while, oblivious to the rest of the world.

This couple chose the busiest place in New York to have their wedding photos taken. Romantic, yet very frustrating for the photographer who wanted no people in the background!

Today my blog crossed the threshold of 10,000 all-time views. Thanks to everyone for your comments, visits, and encouragement over the last 2 years!
Now on with the regular post: A visit to the local antique store is always a source for great macro photography, even when I just have my iphone with me. Here’s what I found when strolled through there last week:

Friday afternoon in Grand Central Terminal still feels so much calmer than any other train station I’ve ever seen.
