I had no idea that tobacco was grown this far north. Shot these tobacco barns this fall, but only now got around to editing the pictures.

I love old pine trees in winter. These were captured in Stowe, VT and Big Sky, MT.

The sky was dominated by Orion (the constellation, not the winter storm) during my last night at Big Sky, Montana.

This moose didn’t seem to be too concerned about me taking pictures. The other creatures actually enjoyed it (giving me some practice with action shots).
It was SO cold that the lifts couldn’t run because the back-up power runs on diesel, and the diesel fuel was too viscous to run through the engine. Had to wait until 11am when it was only -15 degrees!
Needless to say, I rarely removed my gloves to take pictures, but here are a few, shot with the iPhone app Hipstamatic.
Arrived in Montana and took a drive through parts of Yellowstone before arriving at Big Sky today. -15F (-26C)!
This gang of elk didn’t mind the cold.
