I spotted this take on the classic 40’s roadside billboards from Burma Shave right here in Connecticut. Well done, whoever did this, and happy holidays!

This one is located just south of downtown Hartford:

I passed this old factory in Bristol that looked abandoned and decided to explore it, only to find out that it houses a variety of small artsy businesses:

The J.H.Sessions factory building in Bristol, CT, caught my eye as I was driving by. Couldn’t get to the abandoned inside, but the outside provided plenty of photo opportunities. Click on any pic to see them in slideshow format:

Clinton had its first ever summer fireworks, and it was a BIG one. Here are some of my favorite shots. Click on any picture to see them all in slideshow format.

A favorite summer destination here in Clinton, CT:

The sunset behind our house lit up this field of clover beautifully. A reflector helped me get the great lighting on the second shot.

No – it’s just the sun that’s melting the ice and snow around our house – finally!

This lovely spot outside our house is even quieter in winter, when the snow smothers all sounds.

I got a taste of what it must feel like to cross the Arctic ice when I walked across the frozen bay of our little town beach (for 2 minutes). The tides caused much of the ice to break in unusual formations, as seen in the second picture.

Located in Long Island Sound, Clinton Harbor provides a serene place to keep your boat ( I decided to post a picture that doesn’t feature snow and ice.)
These ice flows were waiting for high tide to float and join their companions in the Long Island Sound:

Well, it’s abandoned at least until summer returns. For now, the only sounds you hear are the cries from seagulls.

The Mayflower replica, usually moored in Plymouth, MA, is currently at the Mystic Seaport shipyard, the only shipyard on the Eastern Seaboard qualified to restore antique ships like this one. It’ll be there for the next 6 winters, with the goal to have the restoration completed in time for the 400th anniversary of Plymouth in 2020.

Probably not, but I always wonder as I walk by this house in our neighborhood.

Can’t beat a nice stroll through a forest in the fall in New England:

And so are the lifeguards on Clinton Town Beach:

Some impressions I captured on today’s walk through the neighborhood.
Caught this flock of birds as it was making its way across the horizon early morning yesterday.

This cottage is on the beach in Clinton and a party was just getting started after the sun had set.

Apparently this street art installation has been in place in New Haven since 2010, but I just noticed it last week for the first time. The artist is Felice Varini and this is his first installation in the US. While it looks like someone just overlaid a geometric design onto this photograph of this alley, this is actually painted on the walls of the alley and the parking garage behind it.
