I love old movie theatre signs – this one is near Carmel, CA:
I encountered these Monarch butterflies during their migration southward. They had stopped at a tree that was covered with hundreds of them.

Don Quijote would have had fun here (or gone completely crazy). Captured outside of Palm Springs.

Looks like tennis is not the sport of choice of this little girl. Captured at last week’s Indian Wells Tennis Tournament.

Located in Long Island Sound, Clinton Harbor provides a serene place to keep your boat ( I decided to post a picture that doesn’t feature snow and ice.)
These ice flows were waiting for high tide to float and join their companions in the Long Island Sound:

Well, it’s abandoned at least until summer returns. For now, the only sounds you hear are the cries from seagulls.

On a few clear nights, I marveled at the stars above Big Sky. Here are three of my favorite shots. Click on any one of them to see them in full screen slide show format.
Not sure what kind of tree this is, but I loved this twisted, gnarled, lonely pine tree near Lone Mountain in Montana.

The Mayflower replica, usually moored in Plymouth, MA, is currently at the Mystic Seaport shipyard, the only shipyard on the Eastern Seaboard qualified to restore antique ships like this one. It’ll be there for the next 6 winters, with the goal to have the restoration completed in time for the 400th anniversary of Plymouth in 2020.

Not a blacksmith with occult powers, but one located in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut.

Named after the actor, not the razor company, this castle is located above the Connecticut River in Connecticut. I like the black&white version better, how about you?

Marc Cooper just became my 1,000th follower on WordPress! Thank you, my fellow bloggers, for appreciating my images sufficiently to follow my photographic flights of fancy on a regular basis. Here is the photo that started it all, the one that has turned out the be the most popular, and my personal favorite:

Reblogging Milky Way, by Photographer’s Dream. Wish I could see a night sky like that here in Connecticut. This was taken in Montana.

Shot these pictures at the edge of town. What exactly was torn down I don’t know, but the big mountains of debris attracted my attention.
The river near our house always offers some great vistas when the water is calm. These 2 shots were from last week. I hope we’ll see some leaves on these trees soon…
A quick business trip to Washington DC provided only a few occasions for snapshots while walking past the Capitol:

This ride from Washington, DC to New Haven, CT on Amtrak will leave you thinking that all of America consists of refineries, construction sites, abandoned factories, parking lots and water towers. Nevertheless, I was fascinated by what whizzed by my window. Click on any picture to view in slide show format.
