Captured at Madison town beach:

Have some of the best views in the world:

Nothing beats it. Weather was perfect last weekend when I visited my son and did some hiking near Grand Junction.

Went on an early morning hike near Grand Junction, CO, to avoid the heat.

Here’s another shot – this one more panoramic.

Enjoying the view on a beautiful morning in Boulder, CO.

A quiet Sunday afternoon at Clinton Beach – hopefully the start of the warm weather season.
I used Snapseed’s new double exposure feature to create this scene, which combines two different views from the Clinton town beach:

This gas station sits at the outskirts of our little town, and doesn’t seem to get much traffic, but it keeps hanging in there, off the beaten path and not far from large-brand gas stations.

Driving through Montana I am always fascinated by the wide open spaces, probably because there aren’t many in Connecticut. The bottom one is of the battlefield of the Little Bighorn, site of Custer’s Last Stand.
I spotted this take on the classic 40’s roadside billboards from Burma Shave right here in Connecticut. Well done, whoever did this, and happy holidays!

The cold winter finally has frozen Clinton Harbor. I braved the cold this morning to capture the scene at sunrise.

Well, it’s abandoned at least until summer returns. For now, the only sounds you hear are the cries from seagulls.

The temperatures have been low enough that the salt water of Long Island Sound can freeze, and pile up on our town beach. Click on any photo to see them in slideshow mode.
Someone is enjoying the calm of sunset to do a little fishing in our neighborhood.

Shot these pictures at the edge of town. What exactly was torn down I don’t know, but the big mountains of debris attracted my attention.
Something was torn down near our town, and the mountain of steel girders caught my eye. Didn’t see any evidence of monsters, though.

A hazy and foggy morning created some good opportunities to isolate this tree from the background (which is usually a green marsh).

Bruges is full of small streets, unexpected views, and gorgeous canal scenes. It’s definitely my favorite small city in Europe. Plus, the chocolate and fries are to die for.
The winter storm is providing some (but not many) photo opportunities, as I don’t venture far from home. Here are two shots from the neighborhood.
A long exposure in the cemetery Pere Lachaise in Paris produced a nice effect that was well-suited for this melancholy place.

Frost is starting to appear in the morning, making for some gorgeous sunrises over the field behind our house. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I spent a day last weekend in Montana with my son and we spent the entire day taking pictures. Here’s the first batch, of the scenery while driving from Bozeman to Virginia City.
